Spalding were anticipating a tough game against St Neot 1’s, especially with half the team taken over by colds. However they were determined to not let that affect their play and came out attacking right from the first whistle.
Game play was 50/50, with both teams making some nice passes into their attacking halves but had no opportunity to score.
The first half involved fast pace play from both sides with St Neots creating a few short corners but Spalding’s defence were too strong for them. The first half ended 0-0.
The second half involved a few more goals. St Neots managed to sneak a goal in quite early on making the score 1-0.
Spalding continued to battle and won a short corner, which Evie Maltby was successful in converting with a great slap in from the side of the D. The scoreline was tight at 1-1.
The game continued to be a battle between the two sides but St Neots managed to score yet again by a deflection off a short corner.
Spalding were eager to gain another goal but were unsuccessful and St Neots managed to score again very towards the end taking the final score to 3-1.
