Spalding 2’s vs Cambridge City 5’s
An early start hosted the clash between Spalding 2’s and Cambs city 5’s, where a win was vital for Spalding to remain 4th in the league.
The game started strong for Spalding, having good possession through the midfield and around the D but struggling to penetrate Cambridges defences. After 15 minutes of good attacking play Spalding’s hold on the game started to slip as they began to find themselves under pressure from Cambridge, however some good defending from Arron Borst, Liam Fravigar and Callum Fravigar managed to hold the line, until half time, 0-0.
The second half started as an equal battle but an eye-catching performance from man of the match Tom pilgrim saw tides change, as Spalding became the dominant team again finding some good space in and around the D with some really good chances to score. However it wasn’t until the dying moments when Matt Pottle hammered the ball into the bottom corner from a short corner to give Spalding the win and the chance to clinch 4th, 1-0. Man of the match Tom Pilgrim, DoD Lewis Burton.
