Spalding head away again to play Pelicans after a successful game away last week.
Spalding started strong with majority possession and a few attempts at goal within the first few minutes.
An unfortunate counter attack saw Spalding go 1-0 down. Pelicans swiftly followed up with a second goal. Spalding tried to keep their heads up but after a few contested goals the first half ended 4-0 to Pelicans.
Half time welcomed a well managed half time team talk from Ellie Holland to set Spalding’s minds back in the game. Spalding started strong right from the off, winning a short corner which was converted by Georgina after a hard slap into the D by Evie.
Spaldings positivity then flourished as they came back for more, winning a second short corner which was converted by Ellie after a tactical manoeuvre between Ellie and Georgina.
Unfortunately Pelicans were still hungry for more goals, of which they scored 2 in the second half, taking the final score to 6-2.
The score doesn’t reflect the Spalding ladies’ play today and they should all be proud of the shift and positivity that went into the game.
