Spalding 3s hosted Cambridge South 5s on a sunny day. Spalding started the better side in the first 20 minutes with many chances but just couldn’t convert them into a goal. Cambridge South came back into the game when scoring a back post goal against the run of play and then doubled there lead from a short corner just before half time. Spalding 2-0 down at half time. 

After a rousing half time team talk from Graeme Matthews, Spalding began the second half really pressuring Cambridge South as they looked for way back into the game and get there reward 10 minutes into the half with a penalty flick but Ben Scholes was denied by an excellent stick save by the goalkeeper. This didn’t lower Spaldings confidence as Ben Scholes shot was deflected into the roof of the net by Greame Matthews. 10 minutes later, Ben Scholes made a solo run and finishing it with a powerful strike into the bottom corner to complete the comeback and earn Spalding a well deserved point. Full time, 2-2.
