Spalding 4’s continued to show week on week improvement with a narrow 4-3 defeat against an experienced and physical Bourne Deeping side.

Bourne took the lead mid way through the first half, but Spalding responded through Simon Goode against his former club.

in the second half Spalding played sone excellent hockey for fifteen minutes taking a deserved 3-1 lead with strikes from Pete Wright and Reuben Read.

Unfortunately experience eventually told and Bourne hit back with two goals to make it 3-3.

The game became end to end for the last few minutes with both sides creating chances, but it was the away side that took one of those chances to steal the three points.

In truth this was a game Spalding should have taken something from, but the continued and quick improvement in play over the weeks is bound to see results turn soon.
