Spalding faced Peterborough 2s in a feisty local rivalry. Spalding started the game of strong with continued attacking play. A short corner was then won which was converted by Stuart Cunnington. Spalding continued to push for another goal but were unable to put away a few chances. Peterborough capitalised on a foot in the D which was given as a penalty stroke levelling the score at 1-1. Darren Grooby then preformed a piece of skill to dribble the ball along the base line passing 2 players and then calmly passed the ball across the goal for Harry Walsh to calmly finish on his reverse. Half time then came shortly after. Into the second half Spalding controlled the ball well to withstand Peterborough pressure but then Peterborough scored from a top of the D strike. Peterborough continued to apply pressure with a run of questionable short corners which Oscar Haunch cleared away one after the other. Unfortunately Peterborough scored after many attempts with a low drag flick. Spalding continued to push for another goal to draw the scores level but this unfortunately didn’t happen in the little time that was left. Overall finishing the score at 3-2 to Peterborough City 2s.
