Cambs Uni 2s 0 – Spalding 1s 1
Spalding travelled late in the afternoon to Cambridge looking to continue their winning start to the season.
Spalding took control of the game and won numerous penalty corners but to no avail. Spalding continued to press and Stu Cunnington finally dispatched a penalty corner between the keepers legs.
Tirelessly work in the midfield from Harris, J Baker, Harry B and Harry N saw Spalding remain in control and see out the half comfortably. Some fine words of encouragement from the skipper Howitt which made no sense and made Barney nearly choke  saw Spalding come out in the second half looking to add to their goal tally.
A controlled second half saw Spalding see the second half out and without conceding a penalty corner or shot on goal. Oscar H keeping his first clean sheet as the mens 1s keeper. Despite Uni pulling their keeper with 5 to go, Spalding held out and nearly scored again through Blackman but some cracking heckling from the crowd saw him miss.
A thoroughly professional performance from the young team saw Spalding win 1-0.
MoM – Harry Blackman
