The £100 Challenge
Finally we will have a home for our club, planning permission has been granted to Tonic Health to convert the currently derelict building into a community cafe, and consequently the Spalding based health and wellbeing charity have offered some of the space to the hockey club to install two changing rooms including showers and toilets. Sport England are making a sizeable contribution, together with funding Tonic Health and the club has raised to date. We need YOU to help raise the final bit of funds towards the project – the more money we can raise the higher the standard we can achieve (yes the dream of showers with underfloor heating can become a reality!!!!)
With this in mind we are asking all club members to try and raise £100 and we are going to organise a number of events to help you, so please get involved in as many as you can and also consider organising something as a team to raise funds for operation clubhouse. If each member could raise £100 that would be fantastic and would allow us to have a wonderful new clubhouse ready for the start of next season.
Sponsored Fun Run Saturday 12th May 11:00am
1k, 5K or 10K Pay the entrance fee of £2 for Juniors and £5 for Adults. Sign up here , download the sponsorship form then go get your sponsorship. We will organise the event on a Saturday or Sunday morning starting from the club, the 1K is aimed at juniors and will be in and around the pitch the other routes will be decided and published on the day. All participants will received a goodie bag when they finish and maybe even a medal.
Bag Packing at a local supermarket Sunday 15th July
Volunteer for 1 hour with your children to help pack shopping bags in the supermarket. We will organise the event on a Saturday or Sunday morning with a local supermarket all you need to do is turn up with your child in Spalding Hockey club Kit. Sign up here
Organise a Children’s Party
Invite children for a party or disco ask the parents to donate as they leave, 2 hours childfree time could be worth at least £10 per child right? Simply have a donation pot so people can donate anonymously as they leave.
Player Sponsorship
Ask a local business, a friend or a family member to sponsor you for the 2018-2019 season. The company name and logo will appear on the website and they will be thanked via the club Facebook page, or sponsors can remain anonymous if preferred. Send the details to [email protected] include the name of the player to be sponsored and the company name and logo.
Dine In
Create your own Pop up restaurant, invite a group of friends or family for a lunch, dinner or breakfast, cook them a meal and ask them to donate whatever they think the meal was worth. Simply have a donation pot so people can donate anonymously as they leave.
Extra match fee
On Saturday the 10th of March we will give all players the option to have an extra match fee added to your Club Buzz account, which will automatically be paid into the Operation Clubhouse funds – a quick, easy donation which across the club makes a huge difference! (100 adults x £10 = £1000, just like that!) If you dont want to participate for any reason just let your captain know after your match.
