Report: 2nd XI Ladies vs Long Sutton 1s – February 21, 2026

On one cloudy, hot afternoon, Spalding Ladies 2s played a difficult match against 6th in the table, Long Sutton 1s.

We began playing fiercly, with beautiful play from Steph Wilson, Vicky Worrall and Kelly Cooper in the middle and impecible runs from both Camille Rogers and Emily Wright on the wings. The constant battling eventually led to Kelly Cooper scoring in the 8 minute, earning her MOM.
Spalding then continued to play strongly, however Long Sutton began their bombardment. With Leanne Isaac-Pick’s impecible reach and her overwhelming presence, earning her MOM.
Through Camille’s constant availability, also earning her MOM, Spalding were able to get lots of short corners in the second half, where Amy Naylor set strikes to the keeper, but unfortunately Spalding were unable to secure that much deserved second goal.
As Long Sutton brought on the attack, there was some incredible saves from Gaby Taylor and Sam Maltby, however, the ball snuck passed as Long Sutton scored with an amazing clean strike. As the clock struck 3 o’clock, Leanne had to leave, earning her DOD.
Spalding continued to persevere, earning more short corners plus some excellant passes from Holly Gleave to Camille Rogers and Chloe P, but Spalding were unable to secure a second goal. Leaving the score 1-1 to end a well battled match.
