Report: 3rd XI Men vs Cambs Nomads 2s – November 15, 2025

Published by Mark Rogers on

Spalding welcomed Cambs Nomads to Glen Park with the visitors sitting seventh in the table. Spalding’s plan of action suffered a late withdrawal, but as with the previous 3 matches Spalding started well, passing and moving with confidence and purpose. The teams seemed evenly matched for the first 10 minutes then as Nomads took the initiative and put together a strong attack winning 2 penalty corners in quick succession. The second was converted. Nomads added another on 24 minutes, but Spalding were still very much in the game winning 2 short corners through good work from MoM Cheston Palmer. Spalding failed to convert either and paid the price as Nomads counter attacked and added a third just before the half time brake. Spalding believed they deserved better and after a spirited half time team talk by coach Paul Pearson, Spalding came out looking to get back in the tie. However, 5 minutes in they suffered an injury blow to Ethan Worrall who had to be replaced after taking an accidental stick to his jaw. Nomads pressed home their advantage and scored two more in quick succession leaving Spalding frustrated at their lack of quality play in the final third, not for a want of effort. With the game ebbing away and Spalding tiring with only 11 players left, Nomads squandered a penalty, but added two more late goals to make the final result look worse than the reality. Spalding move on to next weeks away fixture at St Neots 3’s knowing that it’s vital to pick up points.
