Match Report: Spalding Ladies 2s vs St Neots 2s
On a glum, freshly swept pitch, Spalding Ladies 2s started strong, dominating the first 10 minutes before St Neots scored twice (10’ and 26’) from long balls that were unlucky to slip through an otherwise solid defence.

Spalding refused to let heads drop and fought back. Grace’s cross found Chloe P, who tapped it in to make it 2-1. Spalding battled hard in the D, earning a penalty flick which unfortunately was saved. First half ended 2-1.
The second half began with real determination. At 40 minutes, Steph linked with Kelly, who set up Vicky to hit the back of the net in style – 2-2- whilst leaping over the keeper to avoid the wet, sandy turf.
St Neots regained the lead with a strike from a short corner, but Spalding answered again. A wide long ball from Kate reached Kelly, who passed to Chloe for her second, slotting it home for 3-3 at 62 minutes.
A tense finish saw St Neots earn three short corners, but Spalding’s defence held firm.
A gritty, well-fought 3-3 draw in tough, sandy conditions for the Spalding 2s.
