Spalding Ladies 2s vs Kettering Ladies 2s

Final score 0-3

Date: Saturday 11th October 2025

Spalding Ladies 2s made an early journey to Kettering for a competitive fixture with a 10am pushback. The opening stages saw a well-matched contest, with both teams showing solid defensive structures and intent going forward. For the first 28 minutes, the game remained goalless, with Spalding creating several promising attacking plays and holding strong in defence.

Kettering, however, found a breakthrough in the 28th minute and doubled their lead just before the half-time whistle in the 33rd minute, making it 2–0 at the break.

Despite trailing, Spalding maintained their composure and continued to press in the second half. Possession remained evenly split throughout the match, with Spalding frequently entering the opposition D and earning multiple short corners. Unfortunately, they were unable to convert these opportunities into goals. In the 68th minute Kettering added a further goal to the scoreline following a short corner whereby DOD Vicky Worrall had to return to the half way line after running out too fast.

The final moments of the game saw Spalding awarded another short corner, giving the team one last chance to pull one back. In a bold move, the entire team pushed forward, but Kettering’s defence reacted quickly and cleared the danger to maintain their clean sheet.
