Spalding 2s begin the new season with a tough home game agaisnt Peterborough 4s. Spalding started well with winning a short corner in the first few minutes of the game and Joe Maltby converting the rebound back from the keeper into the roof of the net to take the lead. Spalding’s defence held strong to Peterborough’s attacks and many short corners but they eventually got an equaliser and soon after scored second to make 2-1 at half time.
Spalding continued to dig deep in the second half with both teams creating chances. Spalding kept the intensity high for most of the game but with legs starting to tire. Peterborough scored 2 goals in the last 10 minutes on to seal the win. Full time, 4-1 to Peterborough 4s.
