Match report:

Spalding 3rds played home against an experienced Pelicans 3s

Spalding started the game with an attacking short, which was converted into a penalty flick. Harry took the flick, and the keeper nearly saved, but the ball found its way into the roof of the net, making the score 1-0 to Spalding. Shortly after, the Pelicans got a short corner, which they executed well but could have been stopped if the man on the post didn’t dive out of the way. Coming up to half time, Clive decided to kick the ball on the goal line, giving them a penalty flick, which they executed to perfection, increasing their lead by one. Half time rolled in with the score 2-1 to Pelicans.
Pelicans then started the second half with another goal, which was a scrap in front of our net, with one of our players accidentally tapping the ball in, doubling their lead. Around halfway through the second half, we were given a short corner after a horrendous stick tackle in their D. Tim ejected the ball out to Podder, who passed it to Harry, who executed a perfect half volley to find the corner of the goal, reducing their lead by one. The rest of the final half was fairly even with both sides having chances at goal, but none executed.
Final score 3-2 to Pelicans. Overall, everyone played really well, and the score is nothing to be displeased about.
