Spalding headed into the last game of the day hoping to build on last week’s win. Early possession in the opposition’s 23 saw Spalding create chances. Kelly Tizzano then slipped the ball to Khloe Brewster whose attempt fell to Isla Worrall who finished neatly. At 19 minutes, St Ives equalised after a mix-up between the keeper and defenders. Spalding continued to attack in the D creating a penalty corner for Worrall to get her second goal. The score remained 2-1 at half time.
Spalding continued to dominate the possession and despite missing a penalty stroke, Jess Worth followed up Zoë Moore’s shot off the post scoring the third goal. Player of the match, Jessica Pilgrim’s runs down the right wing continued to cause St Ives problems. Pilgrim crossed the ball twice for Brewster to score two goals in 4 minutes taking the score to 5-1. Spalding’s sixth goal came when Pilgrim’s shot rebounded to Worth who slotted home her second. With 4 minutes remaining Sam Foston entered the D after a mazy run and beat the keeper to score the home team’s final goal. Final score 7-1
