Match Report – Spalding Ladies 2s vs St Ives Ladies 2s
Spalding Ladies 2s played away at St Ives against the Ladies 2s. This was the first time a lot of them had played together however they put in a strong performance against St Ives Ladies 2s, despite the final scoreline of 3–0. The team played with real spirit, showing great passing, communication, and movement throughout the game.
Grace Hodgett, Holly Gleave, and Leanne Isaac-Pick linked up well to move the ball effectively across the pitch, while Kate Amess made some excellent runs up the line to keep the pressure on St Ives. It was also encouraging to see many of the newer, younger players stepping up, displaying both skill and positivity. With the youngsters having the stamina to break up the St Ives players and get us chances on the goal we were able to gain some shorts.
Spalding were rewarded with several short corners but were unlucky not to convert their chances into goals. Despite this, the team kept their heads up and continued to battle until the final whistle.
A promising performance with plenty of positives to build on for the next match.
MOM- Eliza Morris & Lily Hooker
