Both sides began nervously, struggling to settle into their rhythm. However, Spalding found their breakthrough midway through the first half when Harry W converted a penalty corner with a drag flick. Just five minutes later, he doubled the lead, executing a well-placed flick into the bottom corner to give Spalding control heading into the break.
The second half saw Spalding maintain their momentum, and they extended their lead further when Oli Roy found the net to make it 3-0. The game was briefly halted following a head injury to a Nomads player, but upon resumption, Spalding continued to press forward. Despite their control, they conceded a late consolation goal as Nomads capitalized on a penalty corner, slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
