Spalding secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cambridge South in an intense and competitive encounter.
The home side started brightly, dominating possession and earning a series of short corners in the opening stages. Their pressure paid off when Harry W broke the deadlock with a superb reverse stick strike from a penalty corner, giving Spalding a deserved lead. Despite continued pressure, Cambridge South’s defense held firm, and Spalding went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
The second half saw a more balanced contest, but Spalding remained dangerous on the attack. Midway through the half, Tim doubled their lead with a clinical finish, driving the ball low into the bottom right corner.
Cambridge South responded late, pulling a goal back from a well-worked penalty corner to close the gap. However, Spalding’s defense stood strong under pressure, seeing out the game to claim all three points.
