Spalding travelled to Wisbech for an early start and started brightly and dominated possession in the early exchanges with the home team struggling to keep up with the pace. This resulted in a deserved goal from Simon Goode in a scrappy short corner with after two initial saves by the keeper. Spalding went in deservedly ahead at the break. Wisbech equalised through a short corner against the run of play. Goode then scored  from a well worked short corner which was really well deflected in. Wisbech then got lucky at the end with a short sneaking in. .

The game was played in good spirits with both teams playing good hockey.

The final result 2-2 reflected an open game, but Spalding will be disappointed not to have taken all three points
