Spalding Ladies 3s vs Haverhill 1s
On horrible wet and windy morning,  Spalding traveled far to Haverhill. Spalding knew that it was going to be a tough game battling the elements. Haverhill had first push back.  Spalding dominated the game and passed the ball around, having confidence to pass it back round the defensive line up. Spalding had many shots on goal but was not able to convert.  Haverhill managed to score making it 1-0 down at half time for Spalding.
After a Michael Morris half time chat, Spalding were determined to win. The second half started and spalding continued to try and score. Lisa Dean and Kelly Tizanno passed the ball between them, up the pitch and was able to put the ball in the attacking D, where a well positioned Khloe Brewster was able to slot the ball into the goal, much needed equaliser, 1-1.
However, shortly after, Haverhill were able to score from a short corner, 2-1 down. Spalding tried to equalise but were not successful, despite some beautiful play on the left between sisters Poppy and Lilly Hooker. On her debut game for the ladies, MOM Lilly managed to take the ball round all Haverhill defensive players for a shot on goal but did not get past the keeper. Full time 2–1 loss.
The score did not reflect the play, Spalding ladies 3s were the more dominant and skilful team but just could not get any goals in. Making it a frustrating loss in such horrendous weather conditions.
Spalding ladies 3s will take this into the next game away at Bourne Deeping, after a well earned Christmas break. The ladies are hoping the second half of the season will see more wins. The youthful team has grown in confidence and skill since their first game and get stronger and stronger every week.
