On a wet and windy evening, Spalding ladies 1s travelled to Cambridge looking to gain another 3 points. Honor Moore opened up the scoring after just 4 minutes with the team working the ball well up the pitch, for her to slot home. Spalding continued to pass the ball around well and scored again shortly after with Laura Graves slipping the ball to Ellie Holland back post, taking Spalding to 2-0 up. The team worked hard defensively with Freya Lee in goal, shutting down the Cambridge City attacks. Karen Timby ran out the goal well to intercept the Cambridge short corners. Evie Maltby scored a short corner with a brilliant strike to go into half time at 3-0.

Spalding started the second half strong, earning a short corner which Georgina Maplethorpe managed to deflect Laura Graves’ shot into the goal for 4-0. Despite the weather, Spalding kept up their work rate, playing some really nice hockey. Charlotte Maplethorpe passed the ball across the goal which found man of the match Honor Moore who scored her second goal of the game. Laura Graves rounded up the scoring after her first reverse hit rebounded off the keeper, for her to strike again with a lovely reverse hit into the goal, finishing the game 6-0.
