Spalding Ladies 3s vs Wisbech Town 3s
One cold cloudy morning, Spalding Ladies 3s played at home, in the away kit, against Wisbech Town 3s. From the start Spalding dominated the game and playing really well moving the ball around. Spalding had many shots on goal and a few short counters but could not get the ball past the Wisbech goalkeeper.
However a run up the field by, MOM, Chloe P round all the Wisbech defenders see the ball in the attacking D, mixing up attacking tactics Chloe P passed the ball to a well placed Terri Robinson, near the P spot, who lifted the ball over the goal keepers stick to see Spalding gain a much needed 1-0 lead.
Play continued with Spalding dominating to the half time whistle. 1-0 to Spalding.
Half time talk by Michael Morris see Spalding ladies continue their domination on the pitch with many attacks on goal. Spalding was then awarded a penalty flick when the Wisbech goal keeper sat on the ball. Lucy took the flick and managed to scoop it over the keeper making the score 2-0.
Wisbech found some drive and tried to pull the score back but could get past the strong Spalding defensive line up! Play then continued much the same with some great passes by both the Jess’s (Pilgrim and Worth) to the attacking D.
With less than ten minutes to spare, Spalding were awarded a short counter where Chloe P was able to sneak a ball past the Wisbech goal keeper. 3-0 to Spalding.
Spalding never gave up and shortly after that Chloe P managed to put the ball past the Wisbech goal keeper a second time! Bringing the score to 4-0 win at full time.
This is Spalding Ladies 3 best game and score this season. Each week the team goes from strength to strength. Spalding will build on this in their game next week away at Newmarket.
