Match Report: Spalding 4s vs. Newmarket 3s (Saturday, 12th October) – Final Score: 1-3

Newmarket 3s pwon 3-1 against Spalding 4s despite a strong start from Spalding. Henry Gibbons, named Man of the Match, scored early after excellent build-up from the midfield and defence, putting Spalding 1-0 up in the first 10 minutes. However, Newmarket equalized before halftime, exploiting gaps in the wide areas, particularly with their fast players.

In the second half, Newmarket scored from a short corner and added another, despite Rob Callaby’s great job in saving further goals. Spalding had chances, including a couple from Jack Dorsett, but couldn’t convert them to goals. Nevertheless, they showed great resilience throughout the match, with a great effort from captain Andy Barlow.

An injury to Freddie Neal forced Sam Hicks to step in at left midfield. Alex Myland, named ‘Donut of the Day’ for bringing the wrong kit, added to the pre-match challenges. Despite the setbacks, Spalding fought hard but couldn’t close the gap.
