Match Report :
St Neots 2s 5-2 Spalding 3s
A depleted Spalding travelled to St Neots with a number of players unavailable. Spalding defended well before an unfortunate defensive error saw the ball let into the goal after 20 minutes.  Spalding conceded another goal through a well worked goal from a short. Simon Goode made an excellent clearance off the line to keep Spalding in it and soon after Spalding the scored just before half time with a brilliant goal from Paul Pearson. St Neots then scored straight after the restart with another short. It was then 3-2 when Goode scored a scrappy goal following up from a short corner. St Neots then got lucky yet again with a goal that looped in. Spalding continued to press and were unfortunate not to reduce the arrears once more, but with two minutes left St Neots got a questionable goal which appeared to come off the players body as he slid in. It finished 5-2 although on another day Spalding could of come away with a point. There were good performences from everyone who all worked hard especially from Pearson and Goode who were very good defensively and offensively. Overall an unlucky game and a lot of positives.
