Report: 4th XI Men vs Bourne Deeping 3 – February 03, 2024

Men’s 4 played Bourne deeping at Glinton the match started off very well with Spalding keeping possession of the ball for the  main part of the first 15 minutes . On a lovely sunny Saturday morning, Spalding clashed with Peterborough in a gripping hockey match that ultimately concluded in a 2-2 draw. The match started off with tempo set high from both teams. Spalding 3s travelled away to Cambridge South 5s. Spalding began the game the dominant side and got their reward with Dave Burrell scoring inside the first 4 minutes of the game. Spalding arrived at Glen Park for the lunch time push back to face Cambridge City. Spalding started the game well, moving the ball and showing some strong communication.   After another week off due to bad weather Spalding ladies 2s were back on the pitch against Ely 2s in pursuit of reaching the top spot. The first 20 minutes proved frustrating as Spalding made so many attempts in the opposition D with shots at the goal and numerous short corners.
