Following success in their previous match the team started with optimism, however they soon found that they were up against a very strong and experienced Bedford side. Confident passing from Bedford saw them probe deep into Spalding's half, breaking down the defence and with constant pressure they took the lead. Spalding battled hard but found themselves down by 2 at the end of the first half. After a detailed half time talk, the boys entered the second half knowing that they needed to improve on the first half performance if they were to get a result from the afternoon. With encouragement from the supporters Spalding pushed hard and were rewarded by a goal from Tom Bland, which was the catalyst for renewed effort from the whole team. 3 more goals followed from Spalding by Oli Dring (2) and George Morris, countered by 2 more from Bedford levelling the score at 4:4. Determined end to end play from both teams saw chances missed with excellent saves from Archie Arnold to keep the score level, however continued pressure resulted in a goal from Harry Naylor giving the win to Spalding. The whole team worked hard throughout the match and can walk away knowing they put their upmost in to get the result, well done boys!
