Match Report

Spalding ladies 2's played Cambridge today for what was to be an outstanding performance from the Spalding side. With team morale low from the previous week we became organised and creative with our formation. A stroke of genius from Maltby who is always five steps ahead. With some very strong juniors who listened well and knew their role Codie, Imogen, Emma and Lauren provided Spalding with much needed fresh legs. Spalding defence Leanne, Sam,Sally and Lauren showed they had it all worked out and communicated beautifully building a wall that was unbreakable for the Cambridge side to get through. Eva Keyes hammered in her first goal of the season giving Spalding a lead and a boost of confidence. Laura man marked out one of Cambridges strongest players leaving her completely out of the game well worked Laura she was quick. In the centre we had Lisa who kept fighting and creating opportunities.  Spalding fought really hard for the rest of the game with some nail biting moments when Cambridge seemed to get shorts in the final moments. Today was to be our day and Cambridge left confused and in shock at what a side we have become and one to fear most for their future game! Player of the match went to a very well deserved Codie O Leary.
