Results/reports from Junior tournaments/competitions to date:
February 7th 2010
At the latest under 12 tournament held at Stamford, we won 4 and lost just one of our 5 games in the top division. We went with eleven players in our squad and everyone played brilliantly. Good defending meant that our goalkeepers, Max Pearce and Luke Barkworth didn't have too many saves to make. Excellent build up work through the midfield areas set up many chances for our attackers to go on and score goals. Peter Gray helped himself to a total of 5 goals in the tournament including a fine hat-trick in the game against Lincoln - living up to his player of the month award for January.
The squad : Max Pearce, Luke Barkworth, Jack Drury, Dominic Ibrahim, Carlos Ortiz-Jimenez, Harry Bettinson, Peter Gray, Hector Moore, Jo Higgins, Harry Higgins, Claude Smith-Hughes

Lincolnshire U14 Hockey League
Just to let you know that we WON all three of our games today which has put us up into the top division next time!! Everyone played brilliantly. We only went with 7 as we had Beth pull out on Saturday and we fortunately replaced her with Harry Bettinson and then Hector pulled out first thing this morning as he had been injured in training. Our first game was against Sleaford and although we had the ball most of the first half they scored a quick goal and we were 1-0 down. But in the second half Naomi and Lachan scored so we won against a large all boys team. It was a great start. Our next game was against Leadenham and they were all boys again with only one girl they have always been a very strong side but we won 4-2 with three great goals by Naomi and one from Rachel (her first ever) so she was very excited. We needed to win the last game to ensure we went in to the top division and this was a nail bitter. It was against Boston. Lilly Dobbs scored the first goal and they quickly equalized. Lachan then scored a second goal which put us ahead. Boston then spent a lot of time around our goal and there was some amazing defense. Emma cleared two right off the line and Harry deflected a very hard ball to a make sure nothing went in and there were some good saves by Phelicia. They played like a team with some very good passing and all in all a great day for them all.
You would have been very proud!!
